Clamores en vano

Etching, lavis, burin and burnisher inches 5,9 x 8 (mm 154 x 204)

Etching, lavis, engraving and original burnisher; T. Harris, vol. II, no. 174 I/VII;

Very fine impression in the rare and sought-after first edition of seven. Plate n. 45 from the Los Desastres de la guerra series, consisting of eighty-two plates.

Both the lavis effect along the contours of the figures and the streaky effect described by the scholar Tomás Harris (op. cit. vol. II, p. 255) for the works belonging to the edition printed in 1863 are clearly visible.

Large uncut margins of about 55 mm all around. In perfect condition.

The copper plate is deposited at the Calcografia National, Madrid.
