Original chiaroscuro woodcut from two blocks in brown, after Parmigianino; Bartsch XII 148.13;

Superb proof with intact and dazzling colours in an intense, cool brown tone. Glued on a support that does not allow the presence of a watermark to be examined in depth. Complete with the entire marginal line.Small well-made restorations to upper and lower right corners, the latter almost imperceptible.

On the verso the collection stamp R.G.C., adopted by the knight Giancarlo Rossi to identify prints from his collection collected in the mid-19th century. Knight Rossi's high-ranking relations, including the papal entourage and the Della Rovere di Caraffa family, favoured the acquisition of absolute rarities that his collection was known for (Lugt 2212). The collection boasted works by the best Italian artists active between the origins of printing and the 17th century.
