Loening collection stamp on verso (Lugt L. 4807). On the collection Lugt reports that it was a collection assembled between the late 1800s and 1900s, not excluding that the seal was made at a later date and affixed to an existing collection formed by an ascendant of the Loening family. The native family from the area around Mannheim, initially Jewish and converted to Protestantism in 1847, has in one of its progenitors a significant publisher.
At some unspecified time, the collection was divided among the three branches of the family, and prints with this stamp have been sold on the German art market since 2000.
