Mauro Reggio (Rome, 1971) graduated at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Rome in 1993.

Since 1992 he began to exhibit his works. The subjects of his paintings are always urban landscapes.

His first solo exhibition took place in the municipal area of Grottammare in 1996. He participated in 2000 in the exhibition curated by Maurizio Calvesi ""Parola e immagine, at the Teatro Argentina in Rome.

His first personal exhibition in Rome was "Dalla periferia al centro" at the gallery Il Polittico in 2001; he exhibited 10 large canvases with texts in the catalog of Alessandro Riva and Arnaldo Romani Brizzi. In the same year he participated in the exhibition "Cantieri romani" at the Galleria Comunale d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea of Rome. The work exhibited was purchased for the permanent collection of the Municipal Gallery. In October 2001 he was selected for the Premio Giovani 2001 – Pittura of the National Academy of San Luca.

In 2002 he participated in the exhibition "La città e le nuvole" for the Michetti Prize of Francavilla a Mare and in the exhibition "Misure uniche" for a collection in Cagli.

Two solo exhibitions in 2003: at the Galleria Antologia of Monza curated by A. Riva and in the Palazzo Parissi of Monteprandone (AP); in the same year he also participated in the collective exhibitions "Attraversamenti" e "Città di terra, città di mare", both at the gallery Il Polittico in Rome and in the exhibition "Città", at Studio Forni of Milan.

In 2004 he participated in the exhibition "Nel segno della pittura", curated by C. F. Carli at the Civic Gallery of Contemporary Art in Termoli; he was invited to take part in the exhibition "Arte contemporanea per i rifugiati", curated by A. Lam, at the Museum of San Salvatore in Lauro in Rome and in the exhibition "Per Amore, la raccolta Caggiano", with texts of Lucie E. Smith and A. Romani Brizzi at the monumental complex of Santa Sofia in Salerno.

In 2004 the City of Rome has commissioned him a silkscreen that was used as a prize for the excellences of schools in Rome: the silkscreen printing plates were acquired for the collection of the Municipal Gallery of Rome.

In 2005 Marco di Capua presented the solo exhibition "Le città vuote" at the Galleria Forni in Bologna. He also exhibited in the collective exhibitions "Miracolo a Milano" at the Palazzo della Ragione in Milan and in Rome, "E-42- Eur, Segno e sogno nel ‘900", in the Salone delle Fontane of Palazzo degli Uffici in Rome. In December 2005 he was one of the four artists invited to represent Italy at the XXIII Biennale of Alexandria in Egypt and of the Mediterranean countries, in collaboration with Italian Factory and the Italian Institute of Culture in Cairo.

In 2006 he exhibited in Monza at the Galleria Antologia in "Oriente – Occidente" with texts by R. Conti, in "Quindici anni" curated by M. A. and Caggiano Romani Brizzi at the Scuderie Aldobrandini in Frascati (Rome) and he participated in the exhibition "What is Realism?" curated by E. Lucie Smith at the Albemarle Gallery in London.

In 2007 he was present in Tai Pei (Taiwan) in The New Italian Art Scene, organized by A. Riva, at the Taipei Arts Museum and in the collective exhibition curated by Vittorio Sgarbi "Arte Italiana 1968-2007", at the Royal Palace of Milan. In 2007 he participated in "Il Treno dell’Arte - Museo per un giorno", traveling exhibition in 30 italian stations, curated by C. Canali; "Nuovi Pittori della Realtà" by V. Sgarbi at the PAC - Pavilion of Contemporary art in Milan; he participated in the exhibition "Nuova Figurazione Italiana - To Be Continued..." at the Fabbrica Borroni in Milan; in the group exhibition "D’Après: 30x40", curated by P. Giorgi at the Centro Congressi Roma Eventi; "Nuovi Realismi - LVIII Michetti Prize" with texts by M. Sciaccaluga in Francavilla al Mare (CH) and "Sublime Disfacimento" by R. Lucifero at the Centro studi Cappella Orsini in Rome. He also took part in the important book published by Skira "Scuola romana e Novecento italiano", collezione Elena e Claudio Cerasi, created by M. Fagiolo, curated by V. Rivosecchi.

Among the 2008 exhibitions have to be mentioned: "Memento Armato" at the Durini Foundation of Milan, Mauro Reggio con Giorgio Ortona e Paolo Fiorentino, text in the catalog by Gianluca Marziani; "Good News - Contemporary art project" Galleria Antologia in Monza; "Architetture Sensibili" by L. Giusti at the Contemporary Art Centre of Rivara Castle; collective exhibition "Rumors" at the Caserma Cavalli Ex Arsenale, Borgo Dora (TO); "Impronta Globale" at the Ex Magazzini Generali ISA in Rome and the important initiative "Experimenta", Collezione Farnesina, Ministero degli Affari Esteri in Rome, curated by Maurizio Calvesi, Marco Meneguzzo, Marisa Vescovo and Lorenzo Canova. This one, with Emma Gravagniuolo, also wrote the texts in the catalog for the personal exhibition "Unreal City", in the ex Chiesa di San Francesco in Como, where Reggio presented about thirty new big works.

In 2009 he exhibited in "Donne di Roma" at the Auditorium - Parco della Musica in Rome; in Artfair in Open City, Arte Contemporanea Moderna at the Palazzo dei Congressi in Rome and in a collective exhibition curated by Luca Beatrice "No Landscape - la sparizione del paesaggio" at the Bandera Foundation for Art in Busto Arsizio (VA).

In 2010 he participated in the collective exhibition "Diorama Italiano, 61° Premio Michetti", curated by C. F. Carli at Palazzo San Domenico in Francavilla al Mare (CH).He won the prize Museo Michetti with a large canvas that entered in the historical permanent collection; then he took part in the exhibition "Protagonisti del Contemporaneo", in the Sala Michetti at the Ex Aurum of Pescara.

In 2011 he exhibited at the LIV Venice Biennale, Lazio Regional Pavilion, by V. Sgarbi, in Palazzo Venezia, Rome and in The First Italian Show, with texts by L. Beatrice, at the First Gallery in Rome.

In 2012 he participated in the exhibition "Percorsi di figurazione oggi", XLV Premio Vasto, curated by C. F. Carli at the Scuderie di Palazzo Aragona in Vasto and in the same year in the solo exhibition at the Museo Michetti "Mauro Reggio, Pittore di città", curated by C. F. Carli at Palazzo San Domenico in Francavilla al Mare (CH); he participated then in the exhibition "La collezione Becchetti" curated by Luca Beatrice at the First Gallery in Rome.

In 2013, in the book of Camillo Langone, published by Marsilio, he is one of the Twenty Eminent Painters: "Gli artisti italiani di oggi da conoscere, ammirare, collezionare".

In 2014 he exhibited at the Catania Art Gallery in two group exhibitions: "Di luci e di colori" and "U Liotru - la leggenda di Eliodoro", with text in the catalog by A. Romani Brizzi.

In 2015 he participated in "Praestigium - Contemporary Artists from Italy, Imago Mundi, collezione Benetton" at the Sandretto Re Rebaudengo Foundation in Turin and "Mappa dell’arte nuova, Imago Mundi, collezione Benetton" at the Cini Foundation in the Island of San Giorgio Maggiore in Venice, both curated by Luca Beatrice. Subsequently he took part in the exhibition "Pittura Italiana", curated by A. R. Brizzi, at the Catania Art Gallery, in Catania. In Sicily he also participated in the group exhibition "Futuro classico" curated by Silvia Fabbri at the Mazzullo Foundation in Taormina. In the same year he participated in the conference "Estetica, salvaguardia e sviluppo del territorio: riflessioni per un nuovo approccio urbanistico" with exhibitions and screenings of works by Giorgio Ortona, Mauro Reggio, Marco Petrus, in the Protomoteca Hall of the Palazzo Senatorio of the Campidoglio in Rome. Important was his participation in the LVI Biennale di Venezia, Origins of Civilization, curated by D. Trombadori, in which he exhibited on a large wall a composition of six urban landscapes, with text in the catalog by C. Langone, for the Pavilion of the Syrian-Arab Republic, in the Island of San Servolo, Venice.

His works were commissioned by the Starwood company for the St. Regis hotel in Rome and placed in the Grand Hall Cafè, in the restaurant and in the Bottega Veneta Suite.

Bulgari s.p.a. purchased and placed his work in stores in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, London, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur and in the headquarter in Rome.

The Senate of the Italian Republic bought three large paintings for its permanent collection, two of which placed in the Sala dello Struzzo, and one commissioned for the central wall of the press conference room in Palazzo Madama.
